CowParade
So i looked up the cow mania, its actually called CowParade and it started in New York, expanding to different countries. It's an open air exhibition, and it's until the 26th of june concerning Paris. Various artists contributed to this exhibition, the first one being Van Luc. More than 150 cows are being exposed in the french capital's legendary and historical places.
Now, why the cow? you may ask. Well, it seems like the cow has a particular symbolic, being at the time close to man as well as childhood, sympathetic and harmless. It also plays a big role in religions as well as art history since it has been represented in art since prehistoric times.
| The cows are all made of fiberglass and in real size. The artists who "dressed" the animals want to show that they have appropriated themselves this universal creature to make of it a true work of art. |
This event also helps fund raising for different associations, since the best cows are going to be sold in auction. The benefits of the auction will go to the selected associations. | |
| For all those I know who have a blog -and who have left comments-, how about showing what cows you've come across in your city? :P | |
